The Following Checklist will assist you with appealing the most to your potential buyer.  Minor repairs may require some work, but will be beneficial to you and allow home inspectors and potential buyers the best impression.  The repairs show that you have taken care of your home, which is meaningful to your buyer.  Each buyer is looking for different features, so help them decide that your house is desirable, and complete the following checklist. 

Curb Appeal:

Mow the lawn and weed eat

Tend to the garden; Make sure to remove dead plants and trim shrubs

Clean your windows and screens

Clean Gutters

Clean your windows and screens

Check for any broken or missing roof shingles

Clean your patios, including the grill

Add new mulch in the garden

Clean trim, or consider repainting to really boost your curb appeal



Clean all light fixtures

Fill the house with a fresh scent

Clean any furniture and flooring

Clean window ledges

Consider painting a neutral color if you currently have a more eccentric color


Family Room:

Clean the fireplace/p>

Professionally clean carpet; This could make the carpet look years younger

Remove clutter; Magazines, toys, games, etc.

Dust all surfaces

Thoroughly clean the appliances including the range hood

Wipe down cabinets

Consider updated handles and nobs on the cabinet, to give your kitchen a quick and easy update

Remove pictures and notes from the fridge. De-cluttering is key
